1. Athens Dog Training L.L.C. offers a variety of programs that differ in length and number of sessions. For instance, sessions scheduled for one hour may last more or less than one hour. At Athens Dog Training L.L.C., success is prioritized over time, and our trainers determine the necessary duration for achieving success in each class or session.
2. The fee for our dog training programs must be paid in advance. Please make checks payable to Athens Dog Training L.L.C. A $25 service fee will apply for any cancellations requiring a refund. After the first class or when private package sessions begin, no refunds will be provided.
3. Dogs participating in our classes must be of appropriate age and fully vaccinated. We require proof of Rabies, DHPP (or DHLPP for off-leash walks), and Bordetella vaccinations. Bordetella can often be added up to two days before the stay. Puppies older than six months must have completed all vaccination rounds. For older dogs with at least three booster shots, we accept a current TITER test from your veterinarian indicating an adequate immune response. Handlers are responsible for ensuring their pets are up to date on vaccinations before starting any training with Athens Dog Training L.L.C.
All dogs over 10 months old should be altered/neutered, although exceptions may be made at the trainer's discretion. Unaltered dogs can attract unwanted attention from other dogs.
4. Participants must pre-register and pay the class fee to secure their spot in our programs. Owners must submit the vaccination certification form (not original records) before or at the first class session.
5. We reserve the right to deny admission if limitations of the handler or dog impair the trainer's ability to teach the methods used in class. We will make reasonable accommodations to ensure a successful class experience.
6. Aggressive or reactive dogs are not permitted in group classes. Owners aware of their dogs' aggressive or reactive behavior must speak with the trainer before enrolling at the required Group Orientations. For such dogs, we recommend private in-home training to assess if they can attend class or if alternative training arrangements should be made. If an owner brings an aggressive/reactive dog to class without prior consultation, Athens Dog Training L.L.C. is not obligated to refund the class fee.
7. If at any time the trainer determines that a dog or handler is compromising the safety of others in the class, the trainer may request the dog be removed from the session.
8. Each dog enrolled in our group programs should use the recommended equipment or a suitable substitute approved by the instructor. Headcollars and harnesses may be allowed at the trainer's discretion. Choke, prong, or electronic collars are prohibited in the classroom. Handlers must provide a six-foot leash and should always enter the classroom with their dog on a leash and under control.
9. Dogs are not permitted to interact with other dogs without the trainer's permission while in the training yard.
10. Dogs that show signs of contagious diseases, are unwell, or appear uncomfortable may not enter the training area. Please contact our training department if your dog becomes ill at 510-931-3257.
11. Minors aged 12-16 may train a dog only with parental or guardian authorization and at the trainer's discretion. No minor (12-16 years) may hold a dog's leash, even with adult supervision, for the safety of both dogs and children. Minors under 10 years old are not allowed in the group training area, even with adult supervision.
12. By enrolling in Athens Dog Training L.L.C. programs, the enrollees acknowledge that dog training can be hazardous and requires cognitive and physical abilities. The enrollees agree to hold Athens Dog Training L.L.C., its trainers, volunteers, and agents free from any liability or claims for damages or injuries to persons or property arising from participation in the dog training program.
13. CANCELLATIONS: Pet Parents may reschedule their lessons with at least 48 hours' notice to Athens Dog Training L.L.C. Failure to provide this notice will result in the lesson being counted as completed, and the Pet Parent will lose that session.
TERMINATION OF TRAINING: Pet Parents may withdraw their dog from training at any time, but once training has started, all fees are non-refundable unless approved by the owner of Athens Dog Training L.L.C. A $50 filing fee will apply to all qualifying refunds.
14. Furthermore, the owner assumes all responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury to themselves, their dog, or property caused by negligence or any actions of individuals associated with Athens Dog Training L.L.C., Pet Food Express, and Camp Bow Wow.
