Intermediate obedience is a follow up to Basic Obedience with a focus on off-leash skills.
With practice and effort, your pet can learn service skills like picking up dropped items, opening and closing cabinets, and other skills to help disabled handlers
Alex is a certified ABC dog trainer with a passion for animals and a long history of discipline. He was a wrestler for 15 years and traveled internationally for competitions, competing at the NCAAs and acquiring dozens of accolades before a season-ending injury to his neck. Even though his freedom to compete was regrettably halted he never stopped challenging himself and made the Dean's Honor List in his last three semesters of college to graduate with his Bachelor's Degree. He has two Amstaffs, a girl named Athena and boy Dean who are the foundation of his work and a constant source of inspiration in improving his and others' understanding of our furry companions. When we accept these dogs into our lives we have also taken responsibility for theirs and he wants to help us all achieve our goals for them.
Aileen is a certified trainer whose goal is to save animals. Our trainer started dog training in 2014 because she believes that training dogs keeps them out of shelters. After becoming a dog trainer, Aileen decided to test the waters in the veterinary field to further her goal. She has worked at a couple of veterinary hospitals and, based on that experience, decided to go to school to study veterinary medicine and become a veterinary behaviorist. Our trainer specializes in new puppy/dog owners, potty/crate training, excessive barking, pulling, and general basic obedience. At home, Aileen has a chihuahua named Deedee and a pit-bull named Sora that she loves working with. She believes that creating a bond and using positive reinforcement as well as having patience with your pet is very important and is key to having a wonderful companion.
Danny is a certified Animal Behavior College dog trainer, with a lifetime of experience and love around dogs. Before life as a dog trainer, Danny was a paratrooper in the U.S. ARMY. After service Dan, spent many years teaching and competing in martial arts, he has held several small tournament titles. Your trainer Danny brings the discipline, focus, and professionalism that these occupations required to the profession of companion animal training. Daniel believes in training your K9 companions should be fun, rewarding experience centered in positive reinforcement. He believes that true dog obedience/training happens through bonding with our pets. He specializes in pet tricks like roll over, leg weaving, Frisbee retrieving and everyone’s favorite play dead. These fun tricks help build the bond, but you cannot get to tricks without basic obedience. Daniel has designed fun easy beginner classes that every dog and owner needs. Your trainer has a special place in his heart for shelter dogs due to experiences as a volunteer at the Berkeley Humane Society. Daniel has helped in rehabilitating many shelter dogs and has the know-how to help you with the many common misunderstandings/problems that can happen between you and your four-legged friend.
